| Résumé de la thèse | This PhD project is part of the SNSF-funded research project “Feeling left-behind – how lack of social recognition for one’s group influences political information usage and effects.”
The project examines how perceived lack of social recognition for one’s social group shapes political information use, media perceptions, and political attitudes. It focuses on individuals who feel that their group is socially devalued or left behind and investigates how this perception relates to social identity and democratic engagement.
Using a mixed-methods design combining cross-national surveys, experiments, and qualitative interviews in Switzerland, Germany, France, and the United Kingdom, the project aims to better understand how social identity and perceived marginalization influence political communication and democratic processes. |
