The Quality of Deliberation of Deliberative Polling

The thesis will evaluate the quality of deliberation in deliberative mini-publics (Deliberative Poll, EU-citizens discussing third country migration) by the mean of quantitative content analysis. The aim of the thesis is to develop a scheme to aggregate the deliberative quality of a discussion by looking at several standards of deliberation (respect, equality, justification rationality, content of justification, etc.). Questions will also be raised about if and how the deliberative quality of a discussion can shape opinion change.
