Résumé de la thèse

This research aims to uncover the diversity and dynamics of contemporary environmental activism, and the embedded multitude (sometimes conflicting) visions of change through the zero waste movement, leading to an understanding of the potential and limits of civic activism and ecological citizenship in leading the necessary sustainable transformation of our society. To investigate environmental activism in the context of zero waste, I plan to study selected networks of organizations, activist groups and individuals engaged in the movement in cities of both majority and minority countries (China and selected ASEAN countries in the majority world, and Switzerland in the minority world).
