Master Class: Street-level organizations and politics

This master class focuses on street-level organizations (SLO) and politics. Following Evelyn Brodkin's work, SLOs may be understood as organization that bring policy to people, doing the work of policy implementation, but also much more than that. Hence, this Master Class welcomes PhD students working on SLO in a broad perspective: bureaucracies, NGOs, non profit organizations, or private actors, understood as mediators of both policies and politics (Brodkin 2013; Breidahl, Brodkin & Miaz 2024). During this doctoral training, Professors Evelyn Brodkin and Jonathan Miaz will deliver an introductory lecture on the politics of street-level organizations. This lecture will be followed by a session entirely devoted to participants for them to present their research and raise questions to be discussed with Evelyn Brodkin based on their own project.
